Bits and Pieces

For publisher and Lodown magazine creative director Thomas Marecki being creative is strongly connected to the idea of not following any rules but create something new and sticking to your very own plan. 'If you don´t know where you are going, then you´ll probably don´t know what to say' is the bottom line he is following when working. Besides his work at lodown, which he founded in 1995, Thomas Marecki aka Marok is woking on various projects. His latest outcome is called 'Traphic' where he connects visuals and texts around the subjects 'Traffic' and 'Graphics', merging to 'Traphic'.

For Marecki creativity and avant-garde is linked to the idea of walking paths no one walked before and being an explorer in totally new and unknown fields.
He chose to introduce Patrick Pulsinger who played at the release party of 'lodown' in 1995. Patrick Pulsinger is an explorer in the field of mixing electronic music with jazz elements and castro music since the late 90s. His style is very unique, experimental driven and right in the spirit of time. After Pulsinger escaped his duties in the military service at a young age by moving to New York he started making electronic music. In 1993, back home in Austria, he founded the label cheap records with his partner Erdem Tunakan. Ever since he is known for his inadabted style. Marok tells us that he is even avangardistic enough to wake up in the future, one day ahead of the rest of the world.
