Telling a Story

A good book shop is hard to find. Then when you find one, rather than shout it to the world, you tend to hold it close as a precious secret only to be shared with good friends. One such shop is Paris-based 0fr. You can feel the passion and excitement for printed media as soon as you walk through the door. Marie Thumerelle and her brother Alexandre run the shop. They opened the shop for one simple reason: it was impossible to get all the literature and magazines they liked in one spot. Realizing the need for such a place, they decided to act. Today, art and cultural exhibitions take place in the shop on a regular basis. Illustrator Sophie Toulouse was an early customer. She came more often and eventually brought her work with her. It didn’t take long before the business relationship became a close friendship.
