Father Philanthropy, continued

16 January 2013

After introducing our viewers last week to the wonderfully weird world of master art forger Mark Landis, many of you were left wanting more information on this supremely strange individual. While it's safe to say that we may never actually know why Landis forged and donated hundreds of paintings – or, for that matter, why he can't seem to park his car straight – we've put together this "deleted scene" which shows how Mark worked his magic. Mark Tullos is the Director of the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum at the University of Louisiana. In this clip, Tullos describes the day in 2010 when a mysterious man in a priest outfit showed up and offered to bequeath a painting by Charles Courtney Curran – or so Tullos assumed. It would prove to be Landis' last great "philanthropic" endeavor.
