“You might not like what I have to say,” Peter Saville told us when we met up with him. But of course we did. The London-based graphic design legend and art director, who first gained notoriety through his design for Factory Records and bands like New Order and Joy Division. With his view on the status quo he not only made an interesting contribution to this digital compendium of personal views, but also to the TRANSMISSION1 festival in Berlin. We talked to Peter Saville at the BCC in Berlin the day before the event, where he sat in front of his own car. The 1998 500 SL and its stereo playing Joy Division’s song "Transmission" were his statement on avant-garde.
